4.1 Will we get a dedicated HostedSwitch IP?

Yes. We run a dedicated instance of HostedSwitch and provide a dedicated IP address for every member.

4.2 Will you provide us with software?

HostedSwitch is running in our location and you register the gateways, set routes and monitor traffic via a web-interface (we provide you with Account ID and Password). We will not install any software on your equipment.

4.3 What is the price for HostedSwitchsm Service?

Cost depends on the volume of traffic and varies from $0.0025 to $0.001 per minute. For details please visit http://www.HostedSwitch.com.

4.4 Can I make test calls and see all the features of HostedSwitch?

Yes. Please contact HostedSwitch Sales and one of our sales managers will show you online how the actual system works and what it provides. You will be able to test the system with your equipment.

4.5 Do you have clients who use HostedSwitch Service and can we get references?

Yes, we have clients who are already using the service. Please contact HostedSwitch Sales for references.

4.6 Do you sell IP telephony equipment?

No, we do not sell any equipment.

4.7 Where is HostedSwitch located?

The collocation of HostedSwitch is in California, USA.

4.8 What is your backbone in the USA?

Qwest.

4.9 What are IP addresses of HostedSwitch?

We provide a dedicated IP address for every member. For testing of HostedSwitch Service we provide you with special Account ID. For more details please contact HostedSwitch Sales

4.10 Can I create sub-accounts?

You may add as many customers in your account as you need. Routes, billing settings and reports may be set individually for each Customer.

4.11 I have a database of my own. Will I be able to synchronize it with yours?

Yes, you may synchronize traffic information with your existing database by automatic hourly/daily CDR/Failed Calls info FTP upload.

Routing

4.12 Will I need an engineer to reroute my traffic?

No, rerouting is easy, it takes few seconds to reroute or establish new Route.

4.13 Can I limit capacity usage for each originating/terminating customer/gateway/route?

Yes, you may control capacity usage of each originating/terminating customer/gateway/route options in real time.

4.14 Can I set a Quality Alert for a route?

Yes. To set it click on the Region name of a route which quality changes you want to be aware of. Scroll down the appeared window. Type in the Quality Alert criteria.

4.15 Can I load a list of tariffs into your system instead of entering tariff one by one?

Yes, this option is available, you may edit your A-Z lists in Excel and upload/download files for each customer.

4.16 Can I set priorities for my Routes?

Yes, you may prioritize termination based on Priorities and Weights.

4.17 What are the Route Templates used for?

Route Templates are made to simplify the process of routes creating. Route Template is a collection of parameters such as Origination and Termination billing settings, # of E1/T1, Codec, Priority and Weight, Default status and Description. Once set up Route Template may be applied at once to all routes you are creating instead of editing them one by one.

4.18 Can I set up a price for a route that will vary depending on time of day?

Yes, there is a way to implement it using Day-Time Rules. You have to create rules coordinated with your needs and apply them for a route then. For more details please contact HostedSwitchsm Technical Support.

4.19 Does HostedSwitch provide any programmatic way to manage Routing?

Yes, you can completely manage Routing within your proprietary system by means of the HostedSwitch Application Programming Interface (API). Simple XML requests allow to create, update and delete routes. For details please see the API specification.

Monitoring

4.20 How many gateways can I monitor with Hostedswitchsm?

You can register and monitor as many gateways as you need.

4.21 What is included into your Call Detail Records?

Our Call Detail Record includes: called number, time of call, region, call duration, billed duration, tariff, billed amount, route ID and other parameters.

4.22 Do you provide any online report that could help me in traffic monitoring?

The following online reports are available:

  • Real-time Call Detail Records;
  • Real-time Failed Calls Records with enhanced failure reasons info;
  • Highly customizable online reports providing you with any Billing/Sales/Support information.

4.23 Will I be notified if anything happens in my account?

Yes, Hostedswitchsm Service provides a number of e-mail alerts. Quality and sales reports and also event-based alerts may be sent to your employees via e-mail hourly/daily/weekly/monthly.

Billing / Customer Management

4.24 Can Hostedswitchsm bill end-users and generate PIN codes?

Hostedswitchsm is not designed and intended to bill end-users and generate PIN codes. It is built to bill and monitor wholesale traffic between gateways. Our typical client is a VoIP operator who has a lot of gateways around the world that have to be monitored and billed.

4.25 Can I set my own rates into Hostedswitchsm billing platform?

Yes. You set your own rates for every route you create.

4.26 Can I manage my customers balances and provide them with CDR statistics via web?

Yes. You can Monitor and Manage your prepaid/postpaid customer balances, and define credit line for each customer, provide your customers with web access to CDR and Statistics.

4.27 If I need to change billing settings, how long will it take?

Billing parameters may be changed online in real time.

4.28 Will I be able to use your billing system to bill my customers?

Yes, Hostedswitchsm provides customizable online reports for easy Customer Billing. Billing system may be customized to fit the operator's unique requirements.

Support / Customer Management

4.29 Will we get technical support? Will we pay for it?

Yes, you will have 24x7 technical support. You pay only for minutes according to the billing plan you choose and pay nothing for support.

4.31 Does Hostedswitch work with Clarent?

Yes. It works only in inter-domain mode and supports LRQ requests.

4.32 Can I connect to other Softswitches?

Yes. The basic requirement is that those softswitches support H.323 or SIP protocols.

4.33 How many concurrent lines can we send on Hostedswitch?

One instance of Hostedswitch can process up to 20,000 concurrent lines. If your traffic requires more capacity we will run one more instance for you.

4.34 Does Hostedswitch allow connecting equipment of different origin?

Yes, wide compatibility is provided. You may connect heterogeneous equipment within minutes.

4.35 Can Hostedswitch provide ISDN translation?

You may translate any ISDN cause into desired ones on any Gateway using Translations tab.

4.36 I need my employees to have the limited access to my account. Is that possible?

Yes, you may add new employees, select the role, define access rights for each employee and log their activity.

4.37 Can I check what changes under the account my employees made?

Yes, you can. To view these changes enter Activity log, specify the search criteria and click on “Search” button.
